Website Privacy Policy
Effective date: September 22, 2026 | Last updated: October 7, 2026
J.W. Thompson Agency, PLLC, doing business as J.W. Thompson Insurance Agency (the “Agency,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), respects your privacy. This Website Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, retain, and protect personal information through jwthompsoninsurance.agency and Agency forms or online services that link to this Policy, including forms hosted for us by Little Giant.
At a glance
-
We do not sell personal information or use it for cross-site behavioral advertising.
-
Information entered into our online forms is limited to contact details, basic business and request information, general questions or service-request descriptions voluntarily submitted, consent or permission selections, and date of birth when a form requests it.
-
Additional information needed for an insurance transaction is collected within the applicable insurance carrier’s system under that carrier’s privacy notices.
-
We use a limited configuration of Google Analytics 4 for website measurement. Advertising features are disabled, form contents are not sent to Analytics, and visitors may disable Analytics through the controls in Section 7.
1. Scope of this Policy
This Policy applies to information collected through jwthompsoninsurance.agency, Agency forms and communications that link to this Policy, and forms hosted or operated for us by a service provider. Website form data may be hosted, processed, or transmitted by Little Giant, which acts as a service provider for form processing, customer-relationship management, and Agency messaging workflows.
This Policy does not govern the independent privacy practices of insurance carriers, wholesalers, government agencies, social-media platforms, or other third-party websites. It is not a substitute for any insurance information-practices notice, federal financial privacy notice, authorization, consent, or disclosure that may apply to an insurance application, policy, renewal, claim, or other insurance transaction.
2. Personal Information We Collect
Information you intentionally enter into an Agency form, including a form hosted for us by Little Giant, may include:
-
Names, including the name of a business contact, introduced person, or person making an introduction.
-
Mailing, residential, or business address.
-
Telephone number and email address.
-
Date of birth when a form specifically requests it.
-
Basic business and request information, such as legal business name, DBA, legal structure, website address, insurance topic or coverage interest, question topic, general question text or service-request description voluntarily submitted, and consent or permission selections.
Our form and messaging systems may also create administrative records associated with a submission, such as the form or source used, consent or prior-permission selection, submission date and time, delivery status, and opt-out status.
Technical information collected automatically
The Agency and service providers operating the website may automatically process technical and security information, such as IP address, browser and device type, operating system, pages viewed, referring page, access dates and times, approximate location derived from IP address, cookie identifiers, and form-security or delivery logs. This information is generated through ordinary hosting, security, form-delivery, and analytics technology rather than entered into an online form.
Information we do not request through public forms
Public forms do not request Social Security numbers, driver’s-license or other government-identification numbers, payment-card or bank information, medical or health information, policy numbers, account passwords, claims documentation, insurance applications, policy documents, detailed underwriting information, or other sensitive insurance information. Do not submit this information through a public website form, ordinary email, or social media. The website does not offer public file uploads.
Carrier systems and separate notices
Additional information needed to prepare an insurance proposal, complete an application, perform underwriting, issue or service a policy, or assist with a claim will be collected within the applicable insurance carrier’s system. Information entered into a carrier’s website, portal, or application is governed by that carrier’s privacy notices and information practices. Agency personnel may access or use information within a carrier system as needed to provide the insurance service you request, but that information is not collected through the Agency’s public website forms.
3. How We Collect Information
We may collect personal information:
-
Directly from you when you enter contact details, basic business or request information, a general question or service-request description, consent or permission selections, or date of birth into an Agency form.
-
From a person who uses an Agency introduction form to provide another person’s contact information after confirming prior permission to share it.
-
Automatically through standard hosting, security, and website technologies needed to operate and protect the site.
-
From service providers acting on our behalf, including website hosting, email delivery, form processing, customer-relationship management, scheduling, and messaging providers.
Information collected within an insurance carrier’s system is outside the collection scope of this Website Privacy Policy and is subject to the applicable carrier notice, as explained in Section 2.
4. How We Use Personal Information
We may use personal information to:
-
Respond to questions and begin the conversation you requested.
-
Identify and contact you, including using date of birth when it is relevant to the insurance conversation or requested service.
-
Understand the business, insurance topic, or coverage interest identified in a form so we can respond appropriately and begin the requested conversation.
-
Direct you to, or continue your request within, an appropriate insurance carrier’s system when you ask us to explore, place, or service insurance coverage.
-
Create or update Agency contact and service records, route requests to the appropriate team member, and maintain a history of communications.
-
Send administrative messages, appointment information, requested communications, and text messages when you have provided the required consent.
-
Operate, maintain, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the website and its forms.
-
Detect spam, fraud, misuse, delivery failures, and security incidents.
-
Comply with legal, licensing, regulatory, recordkeeping, and insurance-related obligations; establish or defend legal claims; and enforce our agreements.
5. When We Disclose Personal Information
We may disclose personal information only as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including to:
-
Service providers that support our website, hosting, email, form delivery, security, scheduling, customer-relationship management, communications, and text-messaging functions. Little Giant is one such provider for Agency customer-relationship and compliant messaging workflows.
-
Insurance carriers, wholesalers, administrators, and other insurance-transaction participants when you ask us to explore, place, service, or discuss insurance coverage. Additional information entered directly into their systems is governed by their applicable privacy notices.
-
Professional advisers, regulators, licensing authorities, law enforcement, courts, or other parties when disclosure is required or permitted by law or reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, and security.
-
A successor or proposed successor in connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or transfer of all or part of the Agency, subject to appropriate confidentiality and legal requirements.
-
Other parties when you direct us to disclose the information or provide consent.
We do not sell personal information. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising or permit it to be used by third parties for their independent marketing.
6. Text Messaging and Mobile Information
When you separately choose to receive text messages through an Agency form, including a form hosted for us by Little Giant, the J.W. Thompson Insurance Agency Text Messaging Program and its service providers may collect your mobile number, consent record, message content, delivery information, and opt-out status. Depending on the choice presented, messages may include requested information, appointment reminders, continuing conversations, service communications, insurance education, or marketing communications. Marketing consent is separate from service or conversational consent and is not a condition of purchasing insurance or receiving Agency service. Message frequency varies, and message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out and HELP for assistance, as described in the consent notice presented when you enroll.
Mobile opt-in information and text-message consent records will not be sold, rented, transferred, or shared with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes. We may disclose this information only to Little Giant, telecommunications providers, messaging aggregators, and other service providers acting for the Agency as needed to deliver and support the Agency’s messaging program, maintain consent and suppression records, prevent abuse, or comply with law. These providers may not use the information for their own marketing. The specific consent disclosure shown at the point of enrollment supplements this Policy.
7. Cookies, Analytics, and Online Tracking
The website and its service providers may use essential cookies, server logs, and similar technologies to operate forms, maintain security, remember necessary preferences, record privacy choices, and diagnose performance or delivery problems. These technologies may collect the technical information described above.
Google Tag Manager (“GTM”) is used to deploy and control the website’s measurement code. GTM does not create an independent advertising profile for the Agency; it loads GA4 only under the consent and geographic conditions described below. The Agency does not use GTM to deploy advertising, session-replay, lead-enrichment, or cross-site tracking technology.
Google Analytics 4
We use a privacy-limited configuration of Google Analytics 4 (“GA4”) to understand how visitors find and use the website, evaluate page performance, identify technical problems, and improve our educational content. GA4 is a website-measurement service provided by Google.
When GA4 is permitted to operate, Google may receive the page viewed, page URL and referring page, access date and time, browser and device information, operating system, general interaction information, approximate geographic area derived from the IP address, and pseudonymous cookie or device identifiers. Google states that GA4 uses an IP address at collection time to determine location information and then discards the IP address before it is logged. GA4 uses first-party cookies, including cookies beginning with _ga, to distinguish browsers and sessions. We configure those cookies to expire after no more than 14 months.
GA4 is not used to collect names, mailing or business addresses, telephone numbers, email addresses, dates of birth, consent selections, question or message content, insurance information, or other form responses. We do not send Little Giant contact identifiers or customer records to GA4. Automatic form-interaction tracking is disabled. If a successful form-completion event is measured, it may identify only the type of form completed and must not contain any field value or other personal information.
Google Signals, User-ID, user-provided data collection, advertising personalization, Google Ads linking, enhanced advertising conversions, advertising pixels, session-replay technology, cross-site behavioral tracking, targeted-advertising cookies, and lead-enrichment technology are not used on this website. We do not use GA4 information to create advertising profiles or follow visitors across unrelated websites.
GA4 user-level and event-level data are retained for up to 14 months. Google may retain certain aggregated reporting information for a longer period under its applicable terms and policies. For more information about Google’s processing, review How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
Analytics choices
You may disable GA4 at any time. Disabling Analytics stops future GA4 measurement from this browser and removes GA4 cookies that this website can access. Your preference is stored in a necessary first-party record so the website can remember it. Browser settings, extensions, or device changes may require you to renew the choice.
We also treat an enabled Global Privacy Control signal as a direction to disable GA4. When that signal is present, it overrides an “Allow Analytics” selection. GA4 is not intended to operate for visitors located outside the United States.
Because we do not engage in cross-site behavioral tracking, the website does not currently respond differently to the older, nonstandard browser “Do Not Track” signal. Except for service providers acting on our behalf and external services you choose to visit, we do not knowingly permit other parties to collect personal information about your online activities over time and across unrelated websites through our site.
8. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected, provide requested service, maintain Agency and insurance records, comply with legal or regulatory requirements, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and protect the website and Agency. Retention periods vary according to the type of information and the applicable obligation. When information is no longer reasonably needed, we may delete, de-identify, or securely dispose of it, subject to backup cycles and legal requirements.
9. Information Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure. These measures include secure website transmission, form validation and sanitization, spam protection, access controls, delivery logging, and failure monitoring where appropriate. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Your Choices and Privacy Requests
You may:
-
Ask to review or correct personal information you provided through the website.
-
Ask us to delete website-collected personal information, subject to identity verification and legal, regulatory, insurance-record, security, and other permitted retention requirements.
-
Unsubscribe from marketing email by using the unsubscribe method in the message or contacting us.
-
Opt out of Agency text messages by replying STOP, as described in the applicable messaging notice.
-
Disable or allow GA4 through the Analytics choices in Section 7. An enabled Global Privacy Control signal will continue to disable GA4.
-
Ask questions about our privacy practices or submit a request not to sell your information. We do not sell personal information.
Submit a request using the contact information in Section 15. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. If an authorized agent submits a request for you, we may require proof of the agent’s authority and may also verify your identity directly. We will respond within the period required by applicable law.
11. California Privacy Information
For purposes of the California Online Privacy Protection Act, personally identifiable information collected through Agency forms may include names, mailing, residential, or business addresses, telephone numbers, email addresses, date of birth when requested, basic business and request information, insurance topics or coverage interests, question topics, general questions or service-request descriptions voluntarily submitted, and consent or permission selections. The website and its service providers may also process the technical, device, administrative, and security-log information described in Section 2. The categories of parties to whom information may be disclosed are service providers, insurance-transaction participants, professional advisers, regulators or legal recipients, a successor organization, and parties you direct, as described in Section 5.
California residents may use the process in Section 10 to request review or correction of website-collected information. Material changes to this Policy will be posted as described in Section 14. Our online-tracking and Do Not Track disclosures appear in Section 7.
The California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended, applies only to businesses meeting statutory criteria and contains exemptions for certain regulated information. If and to the extent it applies to the Agency or particular information, California residents may have rights to know, access, correct, or delete personal information; to opt out of sale or sharing; to limit certain uses of sensitive personal information; and not to receive discriminatory treatment for exercising applicable rights. The Agency does not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. Requests may be submitted using Section 15.
12. Nevada Privacy Information
Nevada consumers may use the process in Section 10 to request review or correction of covered information collected through the website. Nevada consumers may also submit a verified request directing us not to make a sale of covered information using the contact information in Section 15. The Agency does not sell covered information for monetary consideration. The website information collected is limited as described in Section 2; the categories of parties to whom it may be disclosed appear in Section 5; and our online-tracking disclosure appears in Section 7.
13. Children’s Privacy
The website is intended for a general adult audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information online from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information through the website, contact us so we can review and take appropriate action.
14. External Links and Policy Changes
The website may link to services that we do not own or control, including insurance carrier systems, social-media platforms, and other third-party resources. Their privacy practices are governed by their own notices and policies. Review the applicable notice before providing information through an external service.
We may update this Policy to reflect changes in our website, services, vendors, technology, or legal obligations. We will post the revised Policy at jwthompsoninsurance.agency/privacy and change the “Last updated” date. If a change is material, we will provide additional notice when required by law or when reasonably appropriate.
